• Lead day-to-day construction oversight for an active portfolio of small-to-mid-scale capital projects across the site.

Process Engineer – Heater Plate Development Scientist

Role

We are looking for a scientifically driven Process Scientist to advance the development of our heater plate products. In this role, you will investigate new heater structures and layouts, design and execute experiments to understand and improve heater functionality, and translate your findings into actionable insights for both product design and manufacturing. You will work closely with R&D colleagues and, when the time comes, guide promising developments through to the first stage of production (Series 0).

This is a science-heavy role for someone who enjoys digging into the fundamentals, is comfortable with data, and has the curiosity to push heater plate technology forward. You serves as the pivotal link between R&D and Production, and as the primary interface with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and develop new heater plate structures and layouts, exploring the relationship between design, materials, and thermal performance
• Design and execute structured experiments (DoE) to study the effect of both manufacturing process parameters and heater layout on functionality and performance
• Analyse experimental data rigorously, draw conclusions, and translate findings into clear recommendations for product and process improvement
• Build up and maintain a solid scientific understanding of the underlying physics and failure mechanisms of heater plates
• Collaborate with R&D, product engineering, and manufacturing teams to align development work with product requirements
• Document experimental methods, results, and learnings to a high scientific standard
• Support the transition of selected developments into Series 0 manufacturing, ensuring scientific findings are captured in a form that production can work with

Dextran Products is seeking a Process Development Engineer to lead and execute engineering projects in support of Dextran Products’ chemical manufacturing process and process development initiatives. These projects include development/validation of new products and processes, increasing capacity of current products, improving safety, compliance, cost of manufacturing and other areas of continuous improvement.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

Process Engineering & Design

• Designs chemical manufacturing processes establishing and documenting process path and equipment selection to ensure the effectiveness of the process. 

• Implements complex chemical manufacturing processing to meet the compliance requirements for associated products. 

 • Implements Quality requirements according to IPEC Guidelines. 

Process Optimization

• Evaluates manufacturing processes, development/manufacturing batch records and operational procedures

• Makes recommendations to leadership to improve increase throughput, reduce costs and improve safety.

Equipment Selection & Installation

• Provides input into the design and selection of process equipment

• Troubleshoots process equipment and utilities as required. 

 Documentation

Le aree di testing saranno inerenti la Compatibilità Elettromagnetica, Sicurezza elettrica, Prove di impatto, Prove climatiche, Prove IP, Prove ottiche, Prove di corrosione, Prove di irraggiamento, Prove di interoperabilità ferroviaria.

Compiti ed attività:

L'addetto tecnico di laboratorio si occuperà, con crescente autonomia, di:

• Lettura e comprensione delle normative di prodotto, di famiglia di prodotti, metodi di base e schemi certificativi di volta in volta applicabili
• Lettura e comprensione dei capitolati e traduzione dei requisiti normativi in prove e valutazioni eseguite in accordo agli stessi
• Esecuzione di prove utilizzando efficacemente le attrezzature e i macchinari di laboratorio (a titolo di esempio: test climatici, compatibilità elettromagnetica in camera semi-anecoica, sicurezza elettrica, ecc.)
• Condivisione e risoluzione di eventuali problematiche risultanti dalle fasi di test, in collaborazione con il team di Ricerca e Sviluppo
• Supporto agli uffici Ricerca e Sviluppo e Qualità per analisi delle root-causes di Non Conformità e stesura delle azioni correttive e di miglioramento

Requisiti e Competenze

• Preferibile diploma tecnico ad indirizzo elettronico o elettrico
• Esperienza di almeno 2 anni in mansioni affini
• Buona conoscenza della lingua inglese
• Propensione al lavoro in team, dinamicità, precisione e senso critico

• Process Design & Optimization: a. Develop & improve carbon manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, yield and product quality. b. Conduct process simulation, feasibility studies & risk assessment. c. Implement lean manufacturing methodologies to eliminate waste and reduce variability. d. Recommend and implement changes to materials and processes based on results of experimental evaluations. 2. Production Support & Troubleshooting: a. Create and maintain clear manufacturing process sequence and technique documents for compliance, ease and efficiency of manufacturing. b. Monitor production processes and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies. c. Investigate and resolve process-related issue including root cause analysis and participate material review board (MRB). d. Lead support and training of Safran Landing Systems manufacturing personnel and maintenance team for new process and equipment. e. Collaborate with maintenance and manufacturing team regarding respective carbon manufacturing equipment and its auxiliaries, including routine operation, emergency procedures and safety considerations. f. Provide technical support and guidance to the team and Operations/Maintenance, including establishment of SOPs, WIs and Special Manufacturing Request updates. 3. Quality and compliance: a. Ensure processes meet industry standard and regulatory requirements (Aviation Regulation, EN9100, OSHA etc). b. Lead and implement the processes changes accordingly to technical definition changes. c. Lead and perform the process and equipment qualification and validation accordingly to Safran Landing Systems process and procedures including perform First Article Inspection (FAI). d. Develop and maintain documentation (standard operating procedure (SOPs), work instruction, SMR, PFMEA etc.) 4. Data analysis & reporting: a. Collaborate with data engineer to collect and analyze production data to identify trends and improvements opportunities. b. Prepare reports on process performance, KPIs and project outcomes. c. Utilize statistical tools for process control and optimization. 5. Project Management: a. Lead and support process improvement projects from conception to implementation. b. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (R&D, supply chain, quality) to ensure project success. c. Manage budget, timelines and resources for engineering projects. d. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment and automation solutions. e. Stay updated on industry trends and best practises in process engineering.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent applicable experience required. Related technical field preferred. Masters degree would be a plus 2. Minimum 3 years working experience in related technical field, such as Wafers Manufacturing Industry, Composite, Carbon or its equivalent. 3. Strong knowledge in material science, and chemical engineering 4. Excellent oral and written communication skills of English language. 5. Able to read technical material, technical drawing, PFDs and P&IDs, develop analysis and make recommendations. 6. “Hands on” approach to problem solving and troubleshooting. 7. • Analisi dei fluidi di processo (WFI, PW, vapore puro, fluidi di processo);
• Calcolo termico e dimensionamento di scambiatori di calore a fascio tubiero;
• Verifica delle prestazioni termiche (heat duty, LMTD, ΔP, fouling factor);
• Selezione delle configurazioni più idonee (layout, materiali, geometria tubi/fascio);
• Collaborazione con i reparti di processo, piping, meccanica e qualità.

Requisiti:

• Laurea in Ingegneria Chimica, Meccanica o Energetica;
• Conoscenza approfondita del calcolo termico degli scambiatori a fascio tubiero;
• Familiarità con standard TEMA, ASME, PED;
• Capacità di lettura P&ID e documentazione tecnica;
• Software di calcolo termico (es. HTRI, Aspen EDR, Excel avanzato);
• Calcoli di scambio termico, perdite di carico e verifica regime di flusso;
